Local Artist Turns Plastic Waste Into Artwork

May 21, 2019

The Argo Gold Cup was held recently, marking the 69th annual sailing competition, which always attracts some of the best sailors from Bermuda and around the world.

Aside from the competition itself, Argo Group also held a unique program to call attention to environmental problems, utilizing the unique talents of a local artist in order to spread a message of sustainability, and also making a $5,000 contribution toward local sustainability initiatives.

Focusing on highlighting the impact of plastics on our oceans, artist Meredith Andrews created a a rather impressive piece of art using trash picked up from the beach and surrounding areas on the island, and the art will be placed in Argo’s Bermuda Office, providing an artistic reminder of the importance of clean oceans.
