Police Seek Driver After Car Crash In Smith’s

The police investigation continues to try and identity of the driver and the circumstances regarding a car crash on Verdmont Road in Smith’s parish on Monday [April 29].

A police spokesperson said, “Around 11pm Monday, April 29th police officers were dispatched to a reported single vehicle car crash on Verdmont Road in Smith’s parish.

“It appears that the car was being driven east along Verdmont Road, in the vicinity of the John Barritt & Son Ltd. premises, when it struck a wall and ended up over an embankment.

“Currently it is unknown if any injuries were sustained, as the driver had already left the scene prior to police arrival.

“The damaged car was later towed away. Inquiries continue to confirm the identity of the driver and the circumstances regarding this incident.

“Anyone with any relevant information is asked to call Constable Mervin Homer on the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
