Bermudian goalkeeper Nathan Trott has been named in England’s squad for the 2019 Maurice Ravello Toulon Tournament in France.

The Football Association website said, “England MU20s head to France this week to compete in the Maurice Revello Tournament, with head coach Paul Simpson selecting a 21-man squad for the trip.

“Now in its 47th year, the prestigious tournament is staged across a variety of venues in Provence and the Young Lions kick-off their defence of the title in Aubagne on Saturday 1 June against Japan.

“They then tackle Portgual on Tuesday 4 June in Salon before Chile are the opponents in Fos-sur-Mer on Friday 8 June. Depending on how the group finishes, the semi-finals are on Wednesday 12 June with the final being held in Salon on Saturday 15 June.

This was also announced by West Ham, who Trott plays for, with the club’s announcement saying, “Nathan Trott has been named in England’s squad for the 2019 Maurice Ravello Toulon Tournament in France.

“The West Ham United goalkeeper is part of Paul Simpson’s selection for the prestigious annual competition for national teams with players aged 21 and under, which will be held in the south of France next month.

“Trott, who has been capped six times at that level since making his debut against the Netherlands in August 2017, was a regular starter for the Hammers in Premier League 2 and the Checkatrade Trophy this season, while he also trained with the first-team goalkeepers on a regular basis.
