Sailors Continue In European Championships

Four Bermuda sailors continued competing in the 2019 Optimist European Championship in Crozon-Morgat, France.

PJ Rodrigues, Amelia Lewis Rachael Betscart, and Ava Rosser are flying the Bermuda Flag during the event.

In the Boy’s Division that has 176 sailors, Rodrigues fell 8 places and is now in 155th after three more races on the day to take the Regatta total to 5 races sailed, Rodrigues finished the first race of the day, he then finished 41st in the second race before closing out with a 45th place finish in the third and final race of the day for his 174 Net Points.

With 117 girls on the water, Lewis continues to lead the Bermuda Fleet with 119 Net Points, this after finishes of 14th, 42nd and 39th, she is in 68th place, Betschart 90th with 153 Net Points, she crossed the line 46th in the first race, 37th in the second race, before closing out with a 25th place finish in the third race.

Rosser is 110th with 188 Net Points, she was black flagged in the first race, being on the course side at the start, she then finished 55th in the second race, before closing out with a 48th place finish in the third race.
