PURE – the All-White Affair is celebrating its 10-year anniversary on Sunday, June 16 with a not to be missed event during Bermuda Carnival.

PURE began in 2009 at Whitehorse in St. George’s as a birthday party for organizer Rowan Ramotar. It has now evolved to one of the premier events of Bermuda Carnival. And this year will be no different as Queen of Bacchanal Destra Garcia and The Dancehall Princes Shensea take the stage at National Sports Centre under the big tent .

Last year more than 3,000 patrons attended PURE to see the King of Soca Machel Montano perform hit after hit. Mr. Ramotar called his event one of the signature events for Bermudians and visitors to the Island.

“This year we are fusing dancehall and soca in a carnival atmosphere. We will be featuring the fastest rising star from Jamaica, Shenseea. She is known as the dancehall Princess and she will be bringing her entire Sheng Yeng Bermuda army out for PURE 2019.

“Shensea’s main message in her songs is about female empowerment so we expect the ladies to really enjoy themselves.”

Mr Ramotar is also excited about Destra’s return to Bermuda after falling on stage two years ago during Cup Match Summer Splash.

“We are excited Destra decided to come celebrate Bermuda Carnival at PURE 2019. Destra aka “Queen of Bacchanal” aka “Lucy” will be performing her full catalogue of hits over the years such as Carnival, Just a little bit, Lucy, Stage Party and many many more.

“Her performance is usually high energy with a high level of audience participation, so we expect patrons will thoroughly enjoy her set.”

Local artists Ponaflex, winner of this year’s Quest for the Best song competition, plus DJ Rusty G, Markie T, and Mista Genius rounds out the highly talented local lineup.

General Admission tickets are $65 while VIP are $150. VIP includes a full meal by Wilks Catering, open bar, front stage access, designated parking and a separate line.

Ticket outlets are Kit n Caboodle, People’s Pharmacy and www.bdatix.com.

Please be more considerate with noise this year – this went on all night keeping tens of thousands of people awake so a few hundred can party at 5am.

    Unnecessary and unacceptable.

One night a year…put some earplugs in bla bla bla lmfao

    • Ralph S says:

Please note that this event finishes at 2am so any noise after would not be from PURE.
In addition, the requisite noise permits have been secured.
