Advisory: Theft From Unattended Motorcycles

July 22, 2019

Police are advising the public to be vigilant about where they park their motorcycles, following recent thefts from unattended parked motorcycles.

A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service is aware of recent thefts from unattended parked motorcycles, where an unknown culprit or culprits remove personal items from under motorcycle seats and inside storage boxes.

“Residents are advised to be vigilant about where they park their motorcycles – particularly overnight [well-lit areas are preferable] and it is strongly recommended that any valuable items be removed before leaving motorcycles parked and unattended.

“Members of the public are encouraged to report any suspicious individuals or activity around unattended parked motorcycles to the main police telephone number 295-0011 at the earliest opportunity – providing as much information as possible about the location and time of any suspicious behaviour, as well as a description of the suspect[s] involved, if possible.”

How abt they do sth about it rather than issuing useless advisory? They won’t even review security camera footage to find the thief!
