BUEI Talks ‘The Lost World Of Kamchatka’

July 7, 2019

The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute will present a talk entitled “The Lost World Of Kamchatka” with Scott Stallard on Thursday, July 25th.

The event poster says, “Travel with Scott Stallard aboard Russian MI 8 Helicopters and 16 wheeler off road kamas on his expedition to film and photograph the far eastern brown bear, active volcanoes, and the Reindeer People.

“This 780 mile long peninsula hosts 160 volcanoes with 30 of them active. See the groups daily trek under armed guard by Russian rangers, close encounters with the many bears and dramatic volcanic vistas shot by drone.

“Experience camping with the reindeer herders of the Central Valleys and their rough existence herding up to a thousand reindeer. Included with the lecture and slide show will be a 12 min film.”

The presentation will get underway at 7.30pm at BUEI Auditorium, with Harbourfront opens for dinner at 5.00pm. Tickets cost $20 for members, $25 for non-members and $12 for students, and are available by calling 294-0204 or visiting BUEI’s Oceans Gift Shop.

    Why is it “Lost”?

They just live a different way of life and nothing lost about that at all! Learn to appreciate other people’s cultures, and leave them alone!
