Butterfield & BF&M Sponsor Triangle Challenge
Following the announcement of the transformation of the Bermuda Triangle Challenge [BTC], the BTC organizing committee announced that the Bank of Butterfield will be the exclusive lead sponsor for the Front Street Mile event, to be held on Friday, January 17, 2020, and BF&M will be the exclusive lead sponsor for the 10k Walk & Run event, to be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020.
Michael Neff, Butterfield’s Managing Director – Bermuda, said: “Butterfield is pleased to be the lead sponsor of the Front Street Mile; one of the most popular events on the local racing calendar.
“The Mile brings together a diverse set of junior, amateur and elite athletes and supporters from across our community in the spirit of friendly competition and celebration. As the island’s leading community bank, we can’t think of a better way to once again become involved with Bermuda’s beloved ‘race weekend,’ and we thank the organizing committee for their great work in expanding and promoting the Bermuda Triangle Challenge for 2020.”
John Wight, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BF&M Limited said: “We are excited to sponsor the 2020 10K Walk & Run event. As a leading health insurer and wellness partner, this particular race resonates with us because it draws so many members of our community to take part.
“We applaud the efforts of the organizing committee to raise the bar and the exposure for this three-day event, putting it firmly on the map for international runners.”
BTC Chairman, Freddie Evans, was equally as excited, saying, “The long-term view of Butterfield and BF&M combined with their community spirit will help increase community involvement, thereby enhancing the runner experience.

The Bermuda Triangle Challenge weekend takes place on January 17 to 19, 2020. The Butterfield Front Street Mile event will start and finish at Front Street in Hamilton. The BF&M 10k Walk & Run event will start and finish at the National Sports Center.
