Delray Rawlins and his Sussex teammates defeated Northants for 273 in 87 overs, while Amari Ebbin helped Cardiff Cricket Club defeat Port Talbot by 8 wickets.

On the Opening Day of the Specsavers County Championship Division Two match, Delray Rawlins and his Sussex teammates bowled out Northants for 273 in 87 overs. But the away side were still happy with their score after winning the toss and sliding to 99 for six, and then 205 for nine.

Ollie Robinson finished with figures of 6-63, while Rawlins bowled 5-0-32-0.

At the close of play Sussex reached 7/2.

Amari Ebbin

Amari Ebbin helped Cardiff Cricket Club defeat Port Talbot by 8 wickets.

Batting first after winning the toss, Port Talbot was bowled out for 155 in 42.4 overs. Ebbin’s team mates Ollie Hughes and Daniel Quick, the skipper, had good bowling figures, bowling 10 overs for 20 runs taking 3 wickets and 9.4 overs for 28 runs taking 4 Wickets respectively.

In the chase, Cardiff found themselves in a little trouble losing 2 wickets for 50 runs after 9 overs. Ebbin came in at #4 and with Richard Sen, batting #1, put on a 100 run partnership.

Sen ended with 100 of 90 balls hitting 15 fours and Ebbin scored 32 hitting 4 fours as he supported Sen in reaching his century and helping Cardiff to victory in 24 overs.
