Island Tour Centre Achieves NSSP Certification

July 30, 2019

The Island Tour Centre has become the latest business certified under the Bermuda Tourism Authority’s National Service Standard Programme [NSSP].

The Bermudian booking agency, which oversees more than 64 sightseeing tours, activities and charters from both its Albuoy’s Point, Hamilton and Dockyard facilities, joins 22 other companies now qualified with National Service Standard Certification [NSSC] under the four-year-old programme.

These are identified on the BTA’s website with a pink star and appear at the top of search listings in their respective sectors.

“We congratulate Island Tour Centre and its staff and welcome them into our NSSC family of businesses that have demonstrated commitment to quality customer service delivery,” said BTA COO Karla Lacey.

“This programme continues to add value to Bermuda’s hospitality industry by encouraging companies to elevate and enhance the service they offer to our island’s visitors.”

Island Tour Centre fulfilled the programme’s various criteria over the course of a year—ranging from customer, staff and management surveys to ‘mystery shopper’ visits and online ratings via portals such as Trip Advisor and Google.

“We want visitors to reap the ultimate value of this programme,” said BTA Tourism Standards & Training Manager Rasheeda Burgess. “Travellers who choose Bermuda expect service to be up to par or exceeding their expectations, and the certification process teaches businesses how to meet customers’ needs and offer a higher level of service. It’s a win-win.”

To date, qualified NSSC holders include: & Partners, Alexandra Mosher Studio Jewellery, Barracuda Grill, Beauty Queen Day Spa, Bermuda Bride, Bermuda Perfumery, Bermuda Transit Services, Devil’s Isle Café, Dolphin Quest, Dowling’s Marine & Auto Services, Flanagan’s Irish Pub, Frog & Onion Pub, Fun Golf, Inverurie Executive Suites, Island Tour Centre, Lili Bermuda, Newstead Belmont Hills Golf Resort & Spa, Pickled Onion Restaurant & Bar, PTIX, Rosedon Hotel, Royal Palms Hotel, Tobacco Bay, and Tuckinn Rentals.

The 2019–20 application process for businesses interested in enrolling in the NSSP programme re-opens in September. Questions can be directed to info@service.bm.
