NatWest International Island Games Open Today
The NatWest International Island Games 2019 opens in Gibraltar today [July 6].
A spokesperson said the event “is highlighting the incredible facilities that the Gibraltar Government have just had completed on this tiny peninsula of 30000 people.
“This includes a 50 meter Olympic pool, a new athletics track, artificial turf fields for football, rugby and cricket, and a racquets sports Hall for squash and badminton. All are close to the University of Gibraltar.
“These facilities complement their sports hall, artificial turf fields for hockey, netball courts and tennis courts, and a new shooting range.
“With 2000 athletes and officials it is shaping up to be a great Games!”
