Tractor-Trailer & Motorcycle Collide In Paget

[Updated] Police responded to a collision between a tractor-trailer truck and a motorcycle this morning [July 23] at the Paget traffic lights on South Road in Paget.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 9:55am today [Tuesday, July 23rd] a collision occurred at the Paget traffic lights on South Road in Paget, near the junction with Middle Road.

“Early information suggests that a motorcyclist was in front of a tractor trailer truck at the traffic lights on South Road when the collision occurred, with the motorcycle ending up under the front of the tractor trailer truck.

“However, it is understood that the male rider involved somehow escaped injury.

“Police officers attended, assisted with traffic management at the location and processed the scene, with normal traffic flow resuming in the area less than an hour later.

“Any witnesses are asked to call the main police telephone number 295-0011.”

Update 7.35pm: A police spokesperson said, “It has since been confirmed that no one was injured in this morning’s collision involving a tractor trailer truck and a motorcycle at the Paget traffic lights.

“The motorcycle involved was significantly damaged but the rider, said to be a 35 year old Smith’s parish man, managed to jump off and was not hurt.

“There was no damage reported to the tractor trailer truck.”
