Appeal For Witnesses: Murder Of Jason Mello

August 19, 2019

Three years later, the murder of Jason Mello remains unsolved, and police are renewing their appeal for witnesses or anyone who may have any information to come forward.

A police spokesperson said, “Detectives are renewing their appeal for information in connection with the murder of Jason Mello.

“Jason Mello was fatally shot around 7:35pm Friday 19th August 2016, three years ago, whilst on Band Room Lane, Pembroke.

“The gunman is believed to have entered Band Room Lane wearing a full face visor helmet and heavy dark coloured winter clothing that would have been unusual on a hot August evening.

“The gunman is also believed to have parked the motorcycle higher up on Band Room Lane and walked down to where he shot Mr. Mello several times.

“The gunman then returned to his parked motorcycle and rode back out through the St. Monica’s Road area.

“Police continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone who may have any information – no matter how insignificant it may seem – to contact Detective Sergeant Dean Martin at the Serious Crime Unit on 247-1739.

“Alternatively, anonymous tips can be given by calling the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477, or by visiting their website.”
