BPS: Temporary Closure Order Issued To Club

Following the assault of a security officer by a group of men at East End Mini Yacht Club, the police exercised their authority under the Liquor Licence Act to order them to close the establishment for 24 hours, starting at 7pm this evening [Aug 30].

A police spokesperson said, “Following the assault of a security officer by a group of men at East End Mini Yacht Club that occurred around 12:30am Saturday, August 24th, the Bermuda Police Service has exercised its authority under the Liquor Licence Act Section 51A to close East End Mini Yacht Club from 7pm Friday, August 30th until 7pm Saturday, August 31st.

“The Commodore of the East End Mini Yacht Club, Mrs. Renall Caisey, then voluntarily agreed to keep the club closed until 10pm Saturday, August 31st.

“Superintendent Claire Armes of the Community Policing Division issued the 24 hour temporary closure order Wednesday, August 28th.

“It is hoped that this temporary closure will allow the management of East End Mini Yacht Club time to review the incident and improve the establishment’s security measures.”

    Yeah @TimeShallTell that same person has fights right outside his club and police right there to see it and his place has never been closed but a place like EEMYC (mini) that has never or rarely had incidents gets closed down talk about backwards. But I guess you can’t ruffle the feathers of the people that contribute to the government purse #FACTS
