A spokesperson said, “Deloitte is a proud signatory of the United Nations’ Standards of Conduct for Business to help tackle discrimination against lesbian, gay, bi, trans, and intersex [LGBTI] people.

“These standards are consistent with the Global code we hold ourselves to at Deloitte: we respect human rights and do not tolerate harassment or unfair discrimination.

“Deloitte strives to create an environment where all our people can maximise their potential, regardless of their ethnicity, cultural background – or any other form of diversity.

“Respect and inclusion are core values at Deloitte and these are the responsibility of all our people from our CEO to our graduates. We remain committed to progressing our already strong culture of inclusion and increasing gender representation at all levels across Deloitte.”

John Johnston, CEO of the Bermuda and Caribbean region stated, “Deloitte is an incredibly diverse organisation and we’re extremely proud of it.

“We see it as one of our greatest strengths, as we know that people from differing backgrounds bring their unique and valuable perspective – helping to replace ‘group think’ with thoughtful solutions. We know that at the intersection of diversity and inclusion lies an area rich with fresh, innovative ideas and creativity – which drives a better employee experience and ultimately better business outcomes.”

“As part of Deloitte Bermuda’s ongoing diversity and inclusion practices, and our continued support for the LGBTI community, we are delighted to announce our support and participation in Bermuda’s first Pride Parade taking place on August 31, 2019.

“To learn more about Deloitte’s work to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace for all, the pledge can be found on our Bermuda homepage: deloitte.com/bm.”

The 2019 Bermuda Pride celebration is set to take place on Saturday, August 31st under a theme of ‘We Belong.’

Well, that’s not very Bermudian. Doesn’t Deloitte know that our Government is appealing to the Privy Council to enshrine discrimination against gay people into our law?

    • Boston Whaler Owner says:

the plp will get told what to do by the Privy Council and they will have to do as they are told.

  3. Wrong says:

Wrong move! Sorry but this will impact you as a business!

    • doubtful says:

I think you got this one wrong Wrong.

    • Double S says:

      No it won’t.

      • Wrong says:

Oh yes it will! You don’t think our Government and true Christians are not taking note? Watch and see!

        • Double S says:

Ok. But as Deloitte is a massive international firm and part of te Big Four I am quite confident that their business will not be hurt because of their support for the pride parade. In other words your hate will do nothing to their business or bottom line.

And BTW shouldn’t ‘true Christians’ be accepting and love thy neighbor?

          • Wrong says:

We love normal people not confused ones!

            • Mike Hind says:

So, there’s a limit on your love… how “Christian” of you.

              • OG says:

He refers to ‘true christians’ and how they don’t love everyone. LOL
The hypocrisy and ignorance is unbelievable…not really though, it’s Bermuda…the third world.

        • question says:

I think Deloitte will manage to struggle on without the support of the stone-age bigots.

        • Boston Whaler Owner says:

          @Wrong
nobody cares what the plp government think or say anymore, they have proved time and time again they are only interested in themselves.

    • OG says:

      LOL@Wrong

Deloitte is so much bigger than you, your ignorant hate filled followers, the plp, all of Bermuda.

You’re too ignorant to understand that, so just keep discriminating against your fellow Bermudians…using your god a shieled.

You will suffer for eternity for your disgusting, inhumane behaviour.
