Sailing: Wollmanns Continue In Pan Am Games
Ceci and Michael Wollmann were back on the water competing in the Mixed Multihull Opening Series at the Pan American Games in Peru.
The Wollmanns finished the first race of the day and the ninth of the series in 7th place, before finishing 6th in the second race and then they finished 8th in the third and final race of the day.
Ceci Wollmann said, “We had good starts today but didn’t have as good boat speed, the wind was a bit lighter. We had some ups and downs so I think the results balanced that out with us finishing within our normal placings. We only have 1 race tomorrow so hoping for good wind. Overall we are happy with how we’ve done. All the other teams are full time sailing except us as we are both completing school at the moment.”
Michael Wollmann added, “We was hoping to catch the Puerto Rico today but they had a better day in the lighter wind due to us starting earlier – it has been a great experience and we have improved and look forward to a good last race tomorrow.”
