Mixed Day For Warner & Whitter In St. Lucia

Bermuda’s Antonio Warner and Mackai Whitter were recently back in action competing in the Confederation of Tennis of Central America and the Caribbean [COTECC] at the St. Lucia National Tennis Center.

Both Warner and Whitter are playing in the Boy’s Under 14 Singles and Doubles Division.

Whitter took to the court to take on Xavier Peter-Gooding from Barbados in their quarter-final battle, with a place in the semi-final up for grabs; Whitter advanced in a three set battle.

Whitter won the first set 6-1 and Peter-Gooding won the second set 6-4, before Whitter then rebounded and won the third and final set 6-2.

Warner was also in a semi-final battle against the number four seed Gabriel Porras from Guyana, but he went down in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.

Warner and Whitter then teamed up for the doubles quarter-finals, taking on Jaiden Julien from Antigua and Tim Pasea from Trinidad and Tobago.

Warner and Whitter won the first set 6-1, but they fell by the same score in the second set.

The match was then decided in a tie-breaker that saw Warner and Whitter win 10-7.
