Bart’s Bash Fun Sailing Race On September 15
U Sail Bermuda will be hosting an event titled “Bart’s Bash”, a fun sailing race which will take place on Harrington Sound on Sunday [Sept 15] from 12.30pm to 4.00pm.
An online post said, “It is a fun sailing race which takes place world wide to get as many people on the water and encourage new people to try it by sailing with one of our instructors. This is in remembrance of Andrew ‘BART’ Simpson who tragically lost his life in a training incident in the 2013 America’s Cup in San Francisco.
“There will be fun activities, refreshments and snacks at the centre after the sailing.
“All donations and 50% of boat hire money will go back into the local community, the Next Generation Fund at the RBYC Sailing Academy to increase accessibility with subsidized race training costs.”
