BMOC: Damaged Vessels After Hurricane

The Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre [BMOC] is currently following up with the boat owners with vessels that were damaged or broke free after the passage of Hurricane Humberto.

A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “Since the passage of Hurricane Humberto, the Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre [BMOC] has been receiving information regarding a large number damaged vessels and vessels which have broken free from their moorings and gone aground. This information has come from members of the public and the Marine Police.

“BMOC is now following up with the boat owners, regarding plans to refloat, repair and scrap vessels and along with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources boats which may cause a pollution risk are being identified and plans put in place to minimize the risk of marine pollution.”
