Car And Motorcycle Collision In Warwick

[Updated] A male rider sustained head injuries after a serious two vehicle collision on St. Mary’s Road in Warwick last night [Sept 24].

A police spokesperson said, “Around 9.15pm on Tuesday, September 24, police, Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service, and ambulance personnel responded to a reported serious two vehicle collision on St. Mary’s Road in Warwick near the junction with Hillview Road involving a car and a motorcyclist.

“It appears that the vehicles involved were traveling in opposite directions at the time and early information indicates that the male rider sustained head injuries.

“He has been rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance.

“Traffic diversions are currently in effect while the scene is being processed.

“Any witnesses are encouraged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 as soon as possible.”

Update 1.51pm: A police spokesperson said, “Around 9:15pm Tuesday, September 24th police, Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service and ambulance personnel responded to a reported serious two vehicle collision on St. Mary’s Road in Warwick near the junction with Hillview Road involving a car and a motorcyclist.

“It appears that the vehicles involved were traveling in opposite directions at the time.

“The injured rider, said to be a 26-year-old Sandys parish man, was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of head and facial wounds.

“At last check this morning [September 25th] he was listed in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

“The car driver, said to be a 28-year-old Southampton man, was not hurt.

“However, both vehicles were damaged. Traffic diversions were in effect for approximately three hours while the scene was processed.

“Any witnesses are still encouraged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 as soon as possible.”
