Masonry Apprenticeship Training Opportunity

The Department of Workforce Development in partnership with the Bermuda College/PACE, and the Construction Association of Bermuda are encouraging interested individuals to register for an upcoming masonry apprenticeship training programme.

The programme will include classroom and on-the-job learn and earn training and various learning and teaching techniques to accommodate individuals various learning styles. Employers, current and new employees are invited to participate.

Components will cover the knowledge, skills and competencies at Level 1, Level 2, & Level 3 using the National Center for Construction Education and Research [NCCER] Masonry Curriculum in partnership with industry experts.

Minister of Labour, Community Affairs and Sports Lovitta Foggo said, “We are pleased that the Department of Workforce Development has collaborated with the Construction Association of Bermuda and the Bermuda College/PACE to train individuals who have an interest in masonry industry.

“We know that the construction industry is a vital contributor to our economy and a significant employer of local tradesmen. And we recognize the Construction Association’s commitment to Bermuda’s workforce. Over the years, they have demonstrated a true dedication providing learning and development opportunities for Bermudians in the construction industry.

“This is an exciting time and opportunity for interested Bermudians because masons at all levels are in high demand to meet the current and future construction needs in the workforce. The masonry training programme is designed to develop tradesmen at various levels to become qualified and experienced. So we are encouraging anyone who wishes to further their skills and training to register for this upcoming course.”

  • Information session: Thursdays,19th September,2019 at the Department of Workforce Development training room at 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
