September 18, 2019

Salvation Army Bermuda will hold Congress ’19; ‘Listen, Behold, Go Now’ from September 27 to 29.

A spokesperson said, “The Salvation Army Bermuda is pleased to announce Congress’19; ‘Listen, Behold, Go Now’. The congress is held every other year as soldiers and friends gather together in worship to be strengthened for our mission.

“Our Congress will tie in with General Brian Peddle’s call to mission and our key theme ‘Listen, Behold Go Now’ will be incorporated into each program lead by our guest, Territorial Commander for Canada and Bermuda, Commissioner Susan McMillan.

“Our musical guest choir for the weekend will be the new Canadian Staff Songsters under the anointed direction of retired Major Len Ballantine.

“The Congress meetings will commence with a welcome/mini-concert on the steps of City Hall at 2:30 – 3:30 pm, Friday, September 27, featuring the Canadian Staff Songsters. The Congress committee has planned a prayer breakfast at 9:00am Saturday morning at the West End Community Church of The Salvation Army [tickets are $15].

“We are excited to announce the official opening of the Church extension and Community Hall at 12.00pm in Somerset. Hold on to your seats.

“The concert at the Hamilton Princess on Saturday night at 7.00pm will be off the chain, with inspirational music and dance feathering the Canadian Staff Songsters, The Bermuda Divisional Band, and the Liturgical Dance Ministry of Patreese Simmons.

“Come, enjoy relevant energizing music and teaching to help motivate and encourage all to share God’s love and hope with others.

“We join together in prayer, songs and biblical challenge on Sunday morning at the Hamilton Princess for the 10:00am worship experience, when the Territorial Commander will give her last message to the territory before moving to her new post.

“Joined by the Staff Songsters and the band, we seek God‘s blessing and power to move us toward fulfilling our mission. After lunch, we will move to St. George’s square for a celebration of praise at 2:30pm.

“Did you know that the Salvation Army is a worldwide church as well as a social movement? Anyone can come as a warm welcome awaits you at these special meetings. On Sundays we hold worship services at our four Worship Centers located in Somerset, Cedar Hill, North Street, and St. George’s.”
