TV Star Yara Shahidi Posts Bermuda Video Diary
She only here in July but it appears Black-ish actress Yara Shahidi is already pining for a return visit to Bermuda.
The 19-year-old actress and model this week uploaded a video diary of her recent visit on social media, saying at the outset: “Dear Bermuda, Is it too soon to say ‘Take me back already?’ From pink sand to the history and the flavour, I miss it all …”
The Bermuda Tourism Authority invited the NAACP Image Award-winning star to spend time on the island during the summer.
“Bermuda was proud to host Yara Shahidi and her family for a weeklong visit as they had ‘the time of their lives’ taking in the life and energy of the island,” said the BTA in a statement.
Now in her freshman year at Harvard — former US First Lady Michelle Obama wrote her a recommendation letter — Ms Shahidi is still appearing in the hit ABC situation comedy Black-ish and its spin-off series Grown-ish.
She has also appeared in such films as Imagine That [2009], Smallfoot [2018] and this year’s The Sun Is Also a Star [2019].
She was one of 15 women selected to appear on the cover of the September 2019 issue of British Vogue by guest editor Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
