Bermuda’s 2-0 victory over Panama was the biggest win in BFA history according to the World Football ELO ratings, which is based on various football-specific variables like the margin of victory, importance of a match, and home field advantage.

Bermuda picked up 55 points with Sunday’s win over Panama. The previous biggest wins according to ELO were the Gombey Warriors 3-1 triumph over Trinidad & Tobago in the 1967 Pan Am Games and the 3-1 victory against the Dominican Republic earlier this year in the Gold Cup qualifiers. Both were worth 45 points.

The 2-0 victory over Nicaragua in the Gold Cup earned 44 points.

Two of Bermuda’s biggest victories, as per the ELO ratings, happened against Mexico, their next opponent in the Nations League A. The 2-1 win versus Mexico in an 1987 Olympic qualifier was worth 37 points while a 2-1 triumph in 1969 Concacaf Championship qualifier garnered 36 points.

Bermuda play Mexico at home on October 11.
