Haunted History Tour & Haunted Home Tour

October 29, 2019

Two Halloween themed heritage experiences will be offered this week serving to “give visitors a spook, while at the same time schooling them on centuries of island history.”

A BTA spokesperson said, “Out here, Halloween has become an ideal time for a healthy dose of Bermuda history. Two heritage experiences this week, a haunted history tour and a haunted home tour, will give visitors a spook, while at the same time schooling them on centuries of island history.

Haunted History Tour Bermuda Oct 2019

“The guided Haunted History Tour in St. George’s brings back local actors playing ghostly characters of Bermuda’s past, roaming the streets of the old town under the cloak of darkness. Meantime, a new home tour of a 200-year-old Cox family estate tells the story of three ghosts said to haunt the Orange Valley Road property. A bus will also move through surrounding neighbourhoods for additional storytelling, ending with a quick talk and tasting of Bermuda cocktails at The Birdcage in Hamilton.

“Both tours are available on Halloween; the home tour offered during the daytime [1:30 pm start] and the walking tour at night [8:30 pm start]. Both visitors and locals are encouraged to purchase tickets online in advance to avoid disappointment.

“While the home tour is available only on Halloween, the Haunted History Tour includes two additional dates on October 30 and November 2. The extra dates will help to accommodate demand from cruise ship passengers given the extended cruise ship season.

“The haunted tours built on the mystique of island history align with the Bermuda Tourism Authority’s strategic focus on cultural experiences during the fall.”
