Entitlement To Time Off From Work To Vote
In accordance with section 36[3] of the Parliamentary Election Act 1978 [as modified by the Municipalities [Election] Order 2015], every Parliamentary elector whose name appears in the Municipal Residents’ register for a Municipality in respect of which a contested Municipal election is held shall, if he is in employment, be entitled to receive from his employer without penalty sufficient time off work on the polling day to enable him to travel to the election room and there record his vote.
