Police Confirm Death Of MP Walton Brown

[Updated] Police have confirmed the death of a 59-year-old man who was found inside a Ferrars Lane, Pembroke residence.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 12 noon Tuesday, October 8th police received a report of a sudden death at a Ferrars Lane, Pembroke residence – where the lifeless body of a 59-year-old man was found inside the home.

“Death was certified at the scene by an on call doctor.

“There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and no further information will be provided regarding the deceased pending next of kin notification.”

Update: The police said, “The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 59-year-old Mr. Walton Brown JP MP and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.

“Police and ambulance personnel attended a Ferrars Lane, Pembroke residence around 12 noon Tuesday, October 8th where Mr. Brown was found unresponsive inside the home.

“Death was certified at the scene by an on call doctor. A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to assist Mr. Brown’s loved ones at this difficult time.

“Foul play is not suspected and a cause of death is being examined.”
