Premier’s Trip To Washington Cost $3,393.70

A trip in September by Premier David Burt for the Annual Legislative Council of the Congressional Black Caucus in Washington DC cost $3,393.70, according to a recent listing on the Government’s travel webpage.

The trip duration was listed as from September 13, 2019 – September 16, 2019, and the web page listing said, “Premier travelled to the Annual Legislative Council of the Congressional Black Caucus where he was hosted by the Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers.

“At the Annual Phoenix Awards Dinner Premier engaged in discussions with leadership of local insurance companies in addition to Members of Congress who are part of the Financial Services Committee which has jurisdiction over Bermuda’s insurance sector.

“Additionally, Premier engaged in conversations with the Prime Minister of Barbados on joint efforts in dealing with the matter of de-risking, which is facing Bermuda and other Caribbean territories as a follow-up to the CARICOM meeting which took place in July.”
