Steve Wilson Joins Hamilton Re As Senior VP
Hamilton Insurance Group, the Bermuda-headquartered group of companies underwriting specialty insurance and reinsurance on a global basis, announced that Steve Wilson has been appointed Senior Vice President, Head of Casualty & Specialty for its new US reinsurance platform, effective October 1, 2019.
Mr. Wilson comes to Hamilton from Third Point Re, where he was SVP Underwriting. He joins US colleagues in Hamilton’s newly-expanded organization.
Based in New York, in this key new role, Mr. Wilson will help launch the build out of Hamilton’s global reinsurance footprint in the US in line with its long-term strategy to build a global diversified specialty insurance and reinsurance company.

Mr. Wilson has extensive experience in reinsurance. Prior to his role at Third Point Re, he spent over eleven years at Munich Re America, most recently as Head of Financial and Professional Lines where he managed the Professional Liability and Credit/Surety/Political Risk underwriting teams.
Before that, he served in a range of increasingly senior underwriting and actuarial roles at Munich Re America. Prior to Munich Re America, Mr. Wilson was an Associate at KPMG where he focused on reinsurance.
Mr. Wilson is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University. He holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
