World Rugby Classic: Ireland & South Africa Win

A total of 55 points were put on the board on the second day of the 2019 World Rugby Classic at the National Sports Center.

Ireland Legends 25 – USA Eagles 8

Ireland put on a dominant performance as they defeated the United States in the opening game of the second day of the World Rugby Classic  at the National Sports Center.

Ireland got two tries from Danny Barnes, while Alex Dunlop and a penalty try accounted for the others, with Fretgal Campion adding a penalty and Chris Keane kicked a conversion. The USA got a try from Marcus Satavu and a penalty from Robbie Shaw.

Lions 5 – South Africa 17

In a much anticipated match, South Africa defeated the Lions 17 – 5.

South Africa jumped out to an early lead when Tonderal Chavhanga went over for a try, Chavhanga then handed off to Jacques Potgieter who doubled the South Africa lead and when Rheinhard Gerber kicked the conversion he made the score 12 – 0.

Sam Gerber extended the South Africa lead when he went over for a try making it 17 – 0, before the Lions got on the board with an impressive try run from Ryan Grant.

With the score 17 – 5, neither team was able to score again as South Africa advanced to the Semi-Final main draw.
