Lambe: ‘Minimum For Us Should Be Play-Offs’

December 18, 2019

Bermudian footballer Reggie Lambe thinks the play-offs should be the minimum of his Cambridge United team’s ambitions, according to a report from CambridgeshireLive.

The report said, “Reggie Lambe believes the play-offs should be the ‘minimum’ of Cambridge United’s ambitions. The U’s sit six points outside the top seven going into the crucial Christmas period, during which they’ll play four games in 11 days.

“Yet, the Bermudian international believes that their first-half performance away to Cheltenham Town, a play-off candidate themselves, should make them believe in their own ability.

“I think the minimum for us should be the play-offs,” he said. “We have enough in the team to push on, I think most of the players are coming back fit.

“We’ve still got a few more out, but once they come back I think we have a full strength team that can easily push us into [the play-offs].

He continued: “I think the way we played [against Cheltenham], in the first half, is the basis of what we can achieve. If we can do that consistently throughout the entire game, we will be a handful for teams to deal with.”
