Witness Appeal: Murder Of Ronniko Burchall

The police are renewing their appeal for information regarding the murder of Ronniko Burchall, who was fatally shot at the St. David’s Cricket Club in December of last year.

A police spokesperson said, “The 29th December will mark the one-year anniversary of the murder of Mr. Ronniko Burchall. Mr. Burchall was at the St. David’s Cricket Club on the 28th December 2018, and was shot whilst he was attempting to get on his motorbike in the parking lot.

“Ronniko succumbed to his gunshot wounds at 4:12p.m. on Sunday the 30th December 2019, and a murder investigation commenced.

“Within an hour of Ronniko’s death a man was taken into police custody and three other men were arrested in connection with his murder bringing the total number of men arrested to four.

“There are person[s] of interest to this enquiry and detectives are continuing their investigations to bring to justice the person[s] responsible for the murder of Ronniko.

“The Bermuda Police Service is aware that there were approximately 50 persons at the party that night and a significant number of the persons there witnessed the shooting.

“These witnesses are crucial to the police investigation as they are able to give a description of the suspect that when coupled with other investigations being conducted, may go a long way in advancing this investigation.

“This appeal is for persons that were at the St. Davids Cricket Club to come forward. The police have appealed for witnesses in the past and given that the first anniversary of Ronniko’s death is approaching, the Bermuda Police is renewing their appeal for assistance from the community.

“We note recent posts on media outlets, and point out that the detectives investigating the case have continued to maintain regular contact with the family of Mr. Burchall.

“The investigating officers have utilised various investigative techniques over the past year to bring justice to this family and need the community’s support to aid in the effort. The police hold regular briefings on this matter and have kept the family of Ronniko Burchall updated as recent as September 2019.

“There are productive lines of enquiry being pursued and any and all information that you have, in particular those that witnessed the shooting, are encouraged to come forward and assist in bringing the offenders to justice.
