Court: Man Sentenced For Threatening Premier
A man who admitted threatening the Premier was sentenced to a year imprisonment plus two years of probation.
Puisne Judge Charles-Etta Simmons handed down the sentence to Jared Gordon in the Supreme Court today, with time he has already spent in custody taken into consideration, with the court hearing he has already spent approximately 18 months in custody, but apparently has no place to go if released.
The court has previously heard that in 2017 and 2018, Mr Gordon had emailed Premier David Burt with multiple threats, including saying that he would “put a hole in your head” and also threatening to chop the Premier’s head off with a hacksaw.
