Isabelle Dutranoit Qualifies For Carifta Games

January 27, 2020

Isabelle Dutranoit has qualified for the Carifta Games after running a time of 9:54.86 in the 3000m.

Bermuda National Athletics Association President Donna Raynor said, “I am pleased to inform you that we have had another Carifta qualifier this weekend.

“Isabelle Dutranoit competed in the Bob Pollock Indoor Meet and placed 8th in the 3000m out of 35 athletes running a time of 9:54.86. The qualifying time for the 3000m for Carifta is 11:15, so Isabelle was well within the qualifying standard.

“This time was also not far off the Indoor Senior Bermuda record which is held by Ashley Berry from 2014, of 9:52.94. We are looking for some great things from Isabelle in Carifta and hope she can repeat the gold medal performance in the 3000m here at home.

“Nathan Armstrong competed in the Lou Molino Invitational where he placed 1st in the 800m in a time of 2.05.1. Nathan is running well in his preparation towards the Carifta games and we hope that he also is able to repeat his performances at this year’s Carifta even though he will be moving up to the U20 age group therefore running the 1500m and 5000m.”
