A trip in December 2019 by Minister of Home Affairs Walter Roban for the annual Space & Satellite Advisory Group Meeting in Washington DC cost $2,984.63, according to a recent listing on the Government’s travel webpage.

The trip duration was listed as from December 2, 2019 – December 5, 2019, and the web page listing said, “The Hon. Walter H. Roban, JP, MP, Minister of Home Affairs, travelled to Washington DC to promote Bermuda’s space and satellite-related offerings.

“As Bermuda has a keen interest in the space and satellite industries, meetings and tours were held to establish new connections with space and industry stakeholders and also reinforce existing connections.”

    Can anyone explain why government officials always travel first class? If this were the 1980’s and we were awash with money I could understand it but we are billions in debt and yet the government still spends money with gay abandon. Crazy!
