Photos: Aftermath Of Boat Fire In Dockyard
Fourteen firefighters from the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service [BFRS] battled a blaze at Dockyard last night [Jan 12], with two vessels completely engulfed in flames.
Following the response, a BFRS spokesperson said, “At 6:27pm the BFRS received a call reporting a house boat on fire at the Dockyard in Sandys.”
“The BFRS responded with six appliances and a total of 14 firefighters. On arrival, firefighters found two vessels approximately 50’ in length completely involved in flames.
“At this time the cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation by the fire investigators.”

I think I heard Winedown was one of the boats… which was the other?
Very sad to see this destruction but pleased to hear no-one was hurt.
Dockyard needs a fire house and it should have all firefighting chemicals fo boat fire…we need a marine fireboat or two.
