January 21, 2020

Two people were transported to hospital following a three vehicle collision on Middle Road in Southampton on Monday.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 7:55am Monday, January 20th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported three vehicle collision on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Avocado Lane.

“It appears that the first car was traveling west on Middle Road when the driver, said to be a 57-year-old Warwick woman, overtook another vehicle approaching a bend and collided with the second car being driven in the opposite direction in the vicinity of Jews Bay.

“The third car was being driven east on Middle Road behind the second car and collided into the rear of that vehicle.

“The driver of the first car was hurt, as well as the driver of the second car, said to be a 66 year old Sandys parish woman. Both were transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries, which were described as non-life threatening.

“Apparently the driver of the third car, said to be a 27-year-old Southampton woman and her passenger, were not hurt.

“However, all three vehicles involved and a roadside wall were damaged.

“Inquiries continue and any witnesses are asked to contact Constable Garwin Phillips on 247-1348 or e-mail gphillips2@bps.bm.”

People are overtaking on curves, over speed bumps on the inside. It is both bikes and cars. They do not care and think they will be ok.

Saw the massive hole in the fence and assumed it was a skid caused by wet surface and poor canber on that stretch.
I never imagined that anyone in a car would be stupid enough to want/need to overtake there. Feel sorry for the innocent victims.
