BIFF To Screen ‘Puzzle’ Film On February 19

The Bermuda International Film Festival is to screen an award-winning character drama starring Trainspotting star Kelly Macdonald at its BIFFFlix monthly series.

Puzzle tells the story of Agnes [Macdonald], a suburban wife who feels taken for granted, but who begins to find her true self when she becomes an expert at jigsaw puzzles.

Stepping out of her domestic bubble to pursue her new hobby, Agnes meets Robert, a wealthy, reclusive inventor who recruits her as his partner for an upcoming world jigsaw tournament. Ultimately, Agnes will decide for herself what comes next.

The crowd-pleasing film, widely praised by critics for its charm, humour and heart-warming honesty, won the audience award at the Deauville Film Festival in France, and the Truly Moving Picture Award at the Heartland Film Festival in the United States.

The film screened on opening night at the Edinburgh Film Festival, and was also featured at the Sundance, Seattle, Adelaide and Stockholm film festivals, among many others.

The running time is 103 minutes. The film is rated ‘15’ in the United Kingdom.

The film will screen on Wednesday February 19 at 6.30pm at the Speciality Cinema. Tickets, $15, are on sale now at www.ptix.bm, or at the cinema box office.
