Football: Premier & First Division Results

Footballers in both the First Division and Premier Division were in action this past weekend, with the Somerset Eagles, PHC Zebras, Southampton Rangers, St. George’s Colts, Devonshire Colts, Wolves, and Hamilton Parish all earning wins, while the Somerset Trojans and Robin Hood played to a draw and the match between Dandy Town Hornets and North Village Rams was postponed.

Premier Division: Somerset Eagles 6 – X-Roads 2

The Somerset Eagles have given themselves a lifeline for survival after they defeated X-Roads 6 – 2 at White Hill Field in this Premier Division match.

The Somerset Eagles have now drawn level with the Southampton Rangers at 13 points with both teams playing 13 games.

The Eagles were led to victory by Tahj Wade, who scored twice, while Teniko Eve, Chare Smith, Anwar Telford and Marcelos Thomas all added a goal each. Tyrell Burgess and Donavan Thompson scored a goal each for X-Roads.

Premier Division: Dandy Town Hornets 0 – North Village Rams 0 – Postponed

The match scheduled for Sunday February 9 at St. John’s Field featuring the Dandy Town Hornets and the North Village Rams has been postponed due to an unplayable pitch.

Premier Division: PHC Zebras 7 – Boulevard Blazers 2

At PHC Stadium, the PHC Zebras defeated visiting Boulevard Blazers 7 – 2. PHC Zebras captain Cecoy Robinson led the way by scoring five times; Robinson found the back of the net in the 43rd, 47th, 68th, 76th and 86th minute, while Tre Ming and Keishon Bean added goals in the 29th and 73rd minutes.

The Boulevard Blazers got goals from Zaire Burchall in the 32nd and Enyche Zuill in the 62nd minutes.

Premier Division: Somerset Trojans 3 – Robin Hood 3

The Somerset Trojans and Robin Hood played to a 3 – 3 draw at the Somerset Cricket Club.

Dion Stovell gave the Somerset Trojans the lead in the fourth minute, but Tomiko Goater leveled the score in the 15th minute. The Trojans went back in front in the 51st minute when Keith Jennings scored, but an own goal four minutes later leveled the score yet again.

Jennings put the Somerset Trojans ahead for a third time in the match in the 63rd minute, but a Tevahn Tyrell equalizer in the 90th minute earned Robin Hood a point.

Premier Division: Devonshire Cougars 0 – Southampton Rangers 2

At Devonshire Rec, the visiting Southampton Rangers defeated the Devonshire Cougars 2 – 0. Kamali Davis gave the Southampton Rangers the lead in the 45th minute, converting from the penalty spot.

Shayne Hollis doubled the lead for the Southampton Rangers in the 76th minute, giving themselves some breathing room in the relegation battle.

First Division: St. David’s 0 – St. George’s Colts 1

At Lord’s in St. David’s, a goal in stoppage time ended this east end derby.

This match between St. David’s and St. George’s Colts saw two players sent off and am Anthony Smith injury time winner for the league leaders St. George’s Colts.

First Division: Devonshire Colts 6 – Vasco 0

At Devonshire Rec, the Devonshire Colts improved their chances of promotion following their 6 – 0 win over Vasco.

The Devonshire Colts got a hat trick from Chemarl Henry. They also got two goals from Senoj Mitchell and a single strike from Jahkeylo Burgess.

First Division: Wolves 2 – Ireland Rangers 1

At Garrison Field, the Wolves defeated Ireland Rangers 2 – 1. Tyree Robinson gave the Wolves the lead in the 45th minute, with Jared Peniston doubling the lead in the 69th minute. The Ireland Rangers pulled within one when Sekai Proctor found the back of the net in the 73rd minute, but they could not find the equalizer.

First Division: Flanagan’s Onions 0 – Hamilton Parish 2

At BAA Field, Hamilton Parish, who earlier this week were penalized for fielding an ineligible player, put a hurt on the Flanagan’s Onions promotion bid, picking up a 2 – 0 win.

Hamilton Parish got single strikes from Romone Smith and Kneiko Richardson in their win.
