Football: Premier & First Division Results

Footballers in both the First Division and Premier Division were in action this past weekend, with Robin Hood, North Village Rams, PHC Zebras, Dandy Town Hornets, Devonshire Colts, Flanagan’s Onions, and Vasco all earning wins, while two other matches ended in draws.

Premier Division: Robin Hood 3 – X-Roads 0

This Premier Division match saw Robin Hood jump back into the title hunt with a 3 – 0 win over X-Roads at BAA Field.

Robin Hood took the lead in the 25th minute when Justin Corday scored from a long range shot, taking that 1 – 0 lead to the break.

Aaron Nelson doubled the lead in the 52nd minute and Casey Castle scored Robin Hood’s third of the game when he found the back of the net in the 57th minute to earn Robin Hood the three points.

Premier Division: North Village Rams 3 – Somerset Trojans 0

At Bernard Park, the North Village Rams continued their march toward a league title with a 3 – 0 win over the Somerset Trojans. Jahziel Smith-DeShields gave the North Village Rams the lead in the 19th minute when he played a give and go with Troy Tucker and scored from close range.

Smith-DeShields doubled the lead in the 42nd minute to send the teams to the break with the home team leading 2 – 0. Smith-DeShields completed his hat trick with a strike in the 68th minute to round out the scoring.

Premier Division: Southampton Rangers 0 – PHC Zebras 2

At the Southampton Oval, the visiting PHC Zebras defeated the Southampton Rangers 2 – 0. After a scoreless first half, Tre Ming gave the PHC Zebras the lead in the 53rd minute. In the 82nd minute, the lead was doubled through an own goal.

Premier Division: Dandy Town Hornets 5 – Devonshire Cougars 2

At St. John’s Field, the Dandy Town Hornets defeated the Devonshire Cougars 5 – 2. The Hornets jumped out to a 4 – 0 half-time lead.

Jayon Fox gave Dandy Town Hornets the lead in the 16th minute and Jomei Bean-Lindo doubled the lead in the 19th minute. Clay Darrell scored in the 24th and 29th minutes to give them a comfortable lead.

Darrell completed his hat trick, extending the lead to 5 – 0 in the 54th minute. Shakii Pearman pulled a goal back for the Devonshire Cougars in the 85th minute and on the stroke of full time Jahkari Furbert scored for the visitors.

Premier Division: Boulevard Blazers 1 – Somerset Eagles 1

At BAA Field, the Boulevard Blazers and the Somerset Eagles played to a 1 – 1 draw. The Eagles took the lead with a Teniko Eve goal in the 14th minute, but Khiry Easton equalized for the Blazers in the 63rd minute to earn both teams a point.

First Division: Young Men Social Club 0 – Devonshire Colts 4

At the Southampton Oval, the Devonshire Colts gained promotion to the Premier Division with a 4 – 0 win over Young Men Social Club. The Colts got two goals from Jibri Salaam, while Richard Jones and Freeman Lima added a goal each.

First Division: St. David’s 3 – Wolves 3

At Lord’s in St. David’s, the home team and the Wolves played to a 3 – 3 draw. Stuart Wilson, Jamal Woodley and an own goal gave St. David’s a 3 – 0 lead, but Jared Peniston and two from Enarho Sharreif-Holdipp pulled the Wolves level and earn a point.

First Division: Flanagan’s Onions 5 – Ireland Rangers 0

At BAA Field, the Flanagan’s Onions defeated the Ireland Rangers 5 – 0. The Onions got single strikes from Jecoa Thomas, Jahvon Morgan, Christ Kierans, Laquan Thomas, and Kiuno Cann.

First Division: Vasco 2 – Hamilton Parish 0

At Bernard Park, Vasco defeated Hamilton Parish 2 – 0. Ryan Lopes gave Vasco the lead in the 22nd minute and Jordan Watts doubled the lead in the 74th minute with a header from a corner.
