Isabelle Dutranoit Breaks Bermuda Record

While competing in the 2020 Camel City Invitational in North Carolina, Isabelle Dutranoit set a new Bermuda national record of 9:50.80 in the 3000m, shattering the old one set in 2014.

Dutranoit — who has already qualified for the 2020 Carifta Games — competes for Wake Forest and she was their top finisher in the event, with her time of 9:50.80. breaking the previous Bermuda national record of 9:52.95 set by Ashley Berry in 2014.

“Izzy ran a fantastic race, she put herself in the mix right away and competed hard the entire time,” said Wake Forest assistant coach Ashley Bastron. “She had her heart set on breaking the national record and it was really fun to watch that happen! I’m incredibly proud of her.”

“She has really come in and worked very hard since day one,” said Hayes. “I’ve been impressed with her work ethic and her attitude. She’s just a great young lady.”
