Digicel Suspend Disconnections For 60 Days

“We will not be disconnecting any customers’ mobile or home services for the next 60 days,” Digicel announced, adding that their physical store locations will be on limited hours starting on Friday, March 20th.

A spokesperson said, “Our employees and customers are our top priority, in light of the Coronavirus situation, we have activated our Crisis Management Committee and therefore will continue to communicate any changes or impacts to you or our business.

“It’s important to point out that, as a provider of essential services to the public, we have a duty of care to keep our business running no matter what. The services that we provide to customers could not be more vital or more needed.

As previously committed we have successfully increased all Fibre internet customers bandwidth by 30Mbps. Furthermore we will not be disconnecting any customers’ mobile or home services for the next 60 days and waiving any late fees.

“We need to advise that our physical store locations will be on limited hours; starting Friday March 20,

  • Digicel Retail Store will be open Monday – Saturday from 9AM – 12Noon.
  • BTC Payment Centre will be open Monday – Friday from 9AM – 12Noon.

“For protection of our staff and to limit transmission of Covid-19 across our community we strongly advise customers to use alternative payment and general inquires options, including: Online Banking, Phone Payments by calling 500-5000 [option 2]. DigicelBermuda.com and island-wide drop doxes.

“We’d also like to remind any customers who are awaiting installs, to protect our team please declare any risk to your safety or theirs when we confirm your appointment, these include Self-quarantine with active monitoring, Self-quarantine with public health supervision, Self-monitoring with public health supervision or showing any symptoms per guidance from here.

“Per EMO guidance enacted by the Bermuda Government, we will continue to monitor any changes and advise you according ensuring you our customers are advised in a timely matter.

“We want to thank our community for their understanding during this time and urge everyone to practice social distancing while remaining safe, and wish you safety during this difficult time.”
