Covid-19: WEDCO Advisory About Dockyard

March 21, 2020

The Clocktower Mall will be closed until Monday, April 6th, WEDCO said today, as they released their latest advisory on the changes being made due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.

A spokesperson said, “Following the news delivered by the Honorable Premier on the evening of Wednesday, March 18, 2020, WEDCO and the entire Dockyard community has been committed to following the planned response and recommendations of the Bermuda Government and more specifically the Department of Health.

“To that end, we would like to share with the public that both West End Development Corporation offices and the Clocktower Mall will be closed until Monday, April 6, 2020, as the well-being of the community is of the utmost importance.

“WEDCO will still be operational in an online capacity and reachable via email for general enquiries at info@wedco.bm. While the WEDCO Facilities Department will be available for emergency essential maintenance services as required.

“To report an emergency, please page WEDCO at 699.0871 and leave your contact number. A WEDCO team member will return your page with a call and assess the necessity. Reports that are not of an emergency nature may be emailed to maintenance@wedco.bm.

Stephanie Rodill, Marketing & Events Manager at WEDCO, states, “Everyone in Dockyard, inclusive of West End Development Corporation, is committed to doing our part to ‘flatten the curve’.

“In Dockyard, we had increased the cleaning of public areas; installed hand sanitizer stations in key public locations; shared proper respiratory and hand hygiene etiquette with our team and tenants; implemented increased cleaning within our own office; and postponed all events and now in light of the confirmation of COVID-19’s presence on-island we have closed our physical location to work remotely.

“While we have and will continue to do our part in this ever-changing environment, it would be remiss of us not to recognize the efforts and risks taken by those on the front line; showing up day-in and day-out for the greater good of Bermuda and for those providing the essential services that allow the rest of us to comfortably quarantine and practice social distancing. Your contributions and efforts are severely appreciated.

“We will be communicating with the public through our website, dockyardbermuda.com; in addition to our Facebook, @DockyardBermuda, and Twitter page, @DockyardBermuda. We urge everyone to follow us to find out up-to-date information on Dockyard and WEDCO in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“As an integral part of the community, WEDCO will continue to support the Government’s containment efforts and we urge everyone to do the same. We very much look forward to the recovery period and reestablishing commerce in Bermuda and more specifically in the Royal Naval Dockyard.”
