Police Confirm Death Of Carlton Lowe

[Updated] The police continue to seek the public’s assistance in locating 71-year-old Carlton Lowe.

A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating 71-year-old Mr. Carlton Lowe.

“Mr. Lowe was last seen at around 3.30pm on Saturday 25th April at his Riviera Crescent, Southampton residence.

“He is a black male, approximately 5’3″ in height, brown complexioned, of medium build, and with black hair.

“When last seen, Mr. Lowe was wearing a pinkish golf shirt, blue shorts, a grey windbreaker and grey Nike sneakers.

“Anyone with information on the whereabouts of missing person Mr. Carlton Lowe, is asked to contact:

“Detective Inspector Derek Berry, of the Criminal Investigations Unit on 712-2012. Detective Sergeant Lennox Ince of the Criminal Investigations Unit on 717-2304. The main police number 295-0011.”

Update 7.34pm: The police said, “71-year-old Mr. Carlton Lowe has been found alive and taken to King Edward Hospital for treatment to facial injuries and dehydration.

“He was found shortly after 6:00 pm today, Tuesday 28th April, in the Sunnyside Park Southampton area by a passerby. The Bermuda Police Services wishes to thank everyone who assisted in ensuring Mr. Lowe’s safe return.”

Update April 29, 4.40pm: Commissioner of Police Stephen Corbishley said, “The Bermuda Police Service extends sincerest condolences to the family of Mr. Carlton Lowe.

“Mr. Lowe was reported missing on Saturday 25th April and the Bermuda Police Service assisted by partner agencies expended significant resources and effort as we sought to help safely return him to his family.

“Their prayers were answered yesterday when Mr. Lowe was found by a member of the public and taken to hospital where sadly, he passed earlier this morning.

“Our thoughts are with the Lowe family at this difficult time.”
