The Baltimore Blast announced that Bermudian David Bascome has been named their Head Coach.

The club — which plays in the U.S. Major Arena Soccer League team — said, “We are pleased to announce that David Bascome has been named Head Coach of the Baltimore Blast and will lead our soccer camps this summer.

“David will work with our Vice President and General Manager, Gianni Tumminello, to handle player signings and operational duties. Danny Kelly has moved on.

Mr Bascome being inducted into the Baltimore Blast Hall of Fame earlier this year:

“Bascome has been involved in professional soccer for the last 28 years. He has spent the last 16 seasons with the Blast, winning 8 champions, 3 as a player, and 5 as an assistant coach. Since 2007, he has been a part of the Legends of Sports and has earned many achievement awards for helping young people in his home country of Bermuda.

“His understanding and passion of the game is why he was inducted into the Blast Hall of Fame last season. Bascome was also a member of the Bermuda National Team.”
