Equestrian: Dressage Championship Cancelled

May 8, 2020

The 2020 Adequan/FEI North American Youth Championship for dressage, scheduled to be held in Michigan from August 4 to August 9, has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

A spokesperson said, “The United States Equestrian Federation announced that the 2020 Adequan/FEI North American Youth Championship for dressage, scheduled to be held in Michigan from 4th – 9th August has been cancelled.

“The decision to cancel the Championship is due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding international travel as a result of the global Covid-19 pandemic as well as the significant reduction in qualifying opportunity for athletes in Canada, Mexico and the USA.

“Under the direction of Bermuda National Dressage Coach Angela Halloran Smith, Bermuda’s Robin Stempel had undertaken a strenuous and committed 3-year training program in order to reach her goal of representing Bermuda at the 2020 Adequan/FEI North American Youth Championship in the discipline of dressage.”
