Importers Reminded To Collect Cargo From Docks

Stevedoring Services Limited [SSL] is reminding importers that cargo should be collected from the Hamilton Docks as soon as possible.

A spokesperson said, “Stevedoring Services Limited would like to remind all importers [independent and agent representatives] that cargo should be collected from the Hamilton Docks as soon as possible.

“Demurrage [storage fees] is in effect. Monday [May 4] was the first free day of the new demurrage period. Demurrage payments will be accepted online only and must be paid before cargo is released from the terminal. For further information on demurrage payments, please contact demurrage@stevedoring.bm.

“SSL prides itself on operating an efficient and clutter-free terminal. This is important when attempting to work safely within the confines of the Hamilton Port. In an effort to ensure that cargo is removed in a timely manner, demurrage rates have been established.”

  • $50/day for first 3 days
  • $100/day for days 4-6
  • $150/day for days 7+

Road Trailers:

  • 2 Free Days
  • $135/day

Boats/Breakbulk:

  • 5 Free Days
  • $50/day

LPG/Gas:

  • 1 Free Day
  • $100/day

40′ Containers:

  • 1 Free Day
  • $150/day

Cars/Trucks/Self-Propelled Vehicles:

  • 2 Free Days
  • $50/day
