Visitor In Stable Condition After Scooter Crash

A 48-year-old female American visitor is recovering on a general ward after being injured in a scooter crash yesterday [June 9] in Southampton.

A police spokesperson said, “At last check this morning [June 10th] the 48-year-old visiting American woman hurt in a single vehicle rental scooter crash that occurred around 3pm Sunday, June 9th on South Road in Southampton near the Fairmont Southampton resort was recovering in stable condition on a general ward at the hospital, where she is receiving treatment for non-life threatening head and leg injuries.

“It appears that the female visitor was riding the rental scooter west along South Road when she crashed after going off the road on to a dirt path and then back on to South Road. Thankfully, her injuries are not as serious as first thought.

“Any witnesses are now encouraged to call Constable Tavin Trott on the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
