Passport Information

 It is always advisable to check directly with the Immigration Department.

Bermudians are entitled to both British Overseas Territories Citizen (BOTC) and British passports, which can both be obtained at the Department of Immigration in the Government Administration building in Hamilton.

Bermuda Passport Fees Effective April 1, 2012:

  • Issuing a standard size passport to a BOTC over 65 years old: $0
  • Issuing a standard size passport to a BOTC in all other cases: $87.00
  • Issuing an electronic passport (e-passport, a chip which stores biometrics) to a BOTC over 65 years old: $0
  • Issuing an electronic passport in all other cases: $123.00
  • Issuing a jumbo passport to a BOTC over 65 years old: $0
  • Issuing a jumbo passport to a BOTC in all other cases: $109.00
  • Forwarding an application for a United Kingdom passport overseas for a BOTC who is over 65 years old: $0
  • Forwarding an application for a United Kingdom passport overseas in all other cases: $87.00
  • Issuing an additional passport of restricted validity except in replacement of a passport lost or temporarily unavailable to a BOTC who is over 65 years old: $0
  • Issuing an additional passport of restricted validity except in replacement of a passport lost or temporarily unavailable in all other cases: $87.00
  • Issuing an additional e-passport of restricted validity except in replacement of a passport lost or temporarily unavailable to a BOTC over 65 years old: $0
  • Issuing an additional e-passport of restricted validity except in replacement of a passport lost or temporarily unavailable in all other cases: $123.00
  • Amending the name of the holder of a passport: $35.00
  • Amending the name of the holder of an e-passport: $96.00
  • Adding a new photograph or amending descriptions or both: $35.00
  • Adding a new photograph or amending descriptions or both in an e-passport: $96.00
  • Linking a new passport to a fully used current passport: $40.00
  • Linking a new passport to a fully used current e-passport: $96.00
  • Issuing and, where required, drawing an emergency passport or other document not otherwise provided for in lieu of a passport: $48.00
  • Providing express service [within 1 – 7 days] on request to someone over 65 – $0
  • In all other cases: $103.00 (refundable if deadline not met)

Passports for American Citizens:

  • American citizens resident in Bermuda can renew their passports at the U.S. Consulate. The consulate does not normally issue emergency passports or same day issuance of passports, therefore, please ensure that you have allowed sufficient time prior to your trip to arrange your documents.
