A service celebrating the life of Mr. Burnet Starwood ‘Rocky’ Simmons, beloved husband of the late Glenda Simmons [nee Dears], in his 91st year of #15 St. Monica’s Road, Pembroke HM 14, will be held at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Hamilton today, Friday, May 31, 2019 at 2pm. Interment will follow in St. John’s cemetery, Pembroke.
Visitation: Relatives and friends may pay their respects at St. Paul A.M.E today from 1pm to 1:50pm.
Burnet leaves the following loved ones to mourn his passing:
Children: Dawn Dublin [Kenneth], Carlene Tucker [Edward], Donna Simmons, Colin Simmons and Dionne Smith [Gary]; grandchildren: Donika, Yusef, Toshmaal [Nicole], Elliott [Lori], Carlisha, Kershun, Kamion [Joyce], Shaday, Kyla and Kanjae; great-grandchildren: Zari, Nyeem, Tah-ki; Nzinga, Shakayla, Sondai, Akwe, Ne-jai, Amani, Tashuna, Seiko, Candice, Nadira, Shiloh, Taniah, Kiajah, Taez, Kamion Jr., Kamori, Kiahna, Joshua and Kimora; sisters: Gladys Barney, Grace Simmons and Iliss Benjamin [Jonathan]; sister-in-law: Jennifer Potts; his nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces; god-daughter: Elvita Bailey. Special Friends: Walter Richardson, Quinton Ming, James Berkeley, the Heard Chapel family and many other family members and friends too numerous to name.
Also predeceased by his parents Victor and Annie Simmons; siblings Edward [Elizabeth], Wesley [Maybelline], Quinton [Grace], Hewitt [Gwen] and Lionel Simmons, Violet Jones [Leroy] Cora and Veronica Simmons.
